Deafblind Scotland’s new £2.5million Learning and Development Centre in Kirkintilloch is now complete and we moved there in June 2017. At this new building, deafblind people can enjoy activities in an enabling environment, where there is no echo, controllable lighting, tactile signage, meeting rooms, café, braille and moon facilities, and a specially equipped IT centre where they can, with assistance, connect to all the internet services we take for granted.
The Learning and Development Centre will also be the focal point for our outreach work so that all deafblind people regardless of location will be supported and enabled by Deafblind Scotland to live the life they choose. The trusts that supported the field of dreams are the Act Foundation, Basil Samuel charitable Trust, Beatrice Laing, Clothworkers Foundation, Commonweal Fund, Dowager Countess Fund, Endrick Trust, Garfield Weston Foundation, Greenhall Foundation, Henry Smith Charity, Hugh Fraser Foundation, J and JR Wilson Trust, Kells Trust, Leng Charitable Trust.
