Welfare Rights Support

This page provides information and signposting to support for deafblind people and their families. At Deafblind Scotland we have one key projects which focus on achieving welfare rights support for deafblind people: Connect2Support.

Welfare Rights Team

Our Welfare Rights project began 10 years ago, in August 2014 aiming to provide information, reduce financial hardship and work in partnership with statutory and other agencies to improve the quality of life of deafblind and visually impaired adults.

We help people with sensory losses with many varied issues including income maximisation, benefit claims, blue badge applications, travel cards, support to write complaint letters, contact energy companies, referrals to other agencies or partners, housing issues etc…….no two days are the same! We're proud to have secured over £4.6 million in additional income for those we support.
