Member Activities
We offer a number of activities for members at our Learning & Development Centre in Kirkintilloch, as well as a range of on-line classes. All activities are free to attend so why not come along, meet new people and have some fun.

Activities at our centre
Monday morning – Scrabble Club
Every Monday from 10am – 12noon
Challenge our regular group of members in this tactile word game.
Tuesday afternoon – Storytelling Workshop
Tuesday 28 June & Tuesday 12 July 2pm-4pm
We are hosting two storytelling workshops telling your Right to Dream story.
Stories will be recorded at a later workshop and showcased at the Year of Stories Festival.
Spaces are limited and must be booked.

Every Wednesday 10am – 11am until 15th June
Learn how to make the most of your I-pad, Chromebook or mobile phone.
Thursday morning – Walking Group
Every Thursday 10.30am – 12pm
Meet weekly at DBS centre for a socially distanced walk. Rain, hail or shine, members will be enjoying local country walks.

DEAFBLIND AWARENESS WEEK

Meet up over zoom with other Deafblind people for a long overdue catch-up and a bit of fun. Join us with your cup of tea and re-connect with friends.

Learn how to defend yourself and build confidence when going out alone. Session held at DbS centre, with Alan from The Scottish Centre for Personal Safety.

Join us for our AGM followed by a picnic in our marquee. We will have Anne Dignan’s art exhibition on display and musical entertainment.

POETRY COMPETITION
As part of our Deafblind Awareness Week celebrations, we are hosting a poetry competition. Put pen to paper with the theme ‘Right to Dream’. Entries must be submitted by Monday 13th June 2022. DbS member Anne Dignan has donated a prize of 3 large print Alexander McCall Smith books – the winner will be announced on Friday 24th June.
